Creating a group

Only Gold Members can create groups. Anyone can add pictures to a group though. To create a group, use the Add A Group button at the top of any group page. As a Gold Member, you can create groups to promote subjects, styles or projects you are personally interested in. By using groups you can curate your own collections. They can be serious, or fun, e.g.
  • Self-portraits
  • Impressionism, or other styles
  • Paintings of a specific subject
  • Paintings with just a touch of red

Groups should be about a fairly specific theme, so that the pictures are clearly related. Groups should not be so generic that any picture at all can be added, such as just your favorites.

Groups that do not have a specific enough theme may be removed or converted to Invitation Only.

When someone adds a picture to your group, you will need to approve it before it is shown in the group. No notifications are sent for approval or rejection, or for removal from groups. Check your Activity For You page regularly to see if any of your groups have pictures waiting for approval.

The avatar for the group is the latest addition to the Group.

If you would like to refer to your group in a comment, you can paste its full web address, e.g., or you can use a shortcut with square brackets and just the group number, in this example [group 999].

It is recommended that groups be actively maintained by the group administrator, keeping the number of submitted pictures waiting for approval to a minimum, otherwise the group will be temporarily deactivated.
